Joe Scarborough: The Beginning of Redemption for the Republican Party

Joe Scarborough on his news show on MSNBC brought tears to my eyes last night at the end of his show.

He had been discussing the attack on MSNBC by Bill O'Reilly of the Fox News Channel and on one of the best of modern News Reporters in the vein of Walter Chronkite and Edward R. Murrow, Richard Engle who reported that the execution of Sadamm Hussein was a Public Relations disaster. O'Reilly had attacked this reporter as being a bad journalist by reporting his own opinion, an opinion universally shared by just about everyone. Mr. O'Reilly had also attacked David Gregory NBC White House correspondent when Tony Snow the Press Secretary had accused him of being partisan against Bush a couple of weeks ago. O'Reilly said this even after the honorable Mr. Snow had publicly apologized to David Gregory and said he was wrong.

Joe Scarborough is an old time Republican and genuine Conservative who doesn't equate his party or his philosophy with stupidity or fascism. An ex Congressman Mr. Scarborough rightly bemoaned the swamp his own party has created in our Congress and our Presidency.

Thank God, genuine Conservatives and Real Republicans in the vein of Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln and Gerald Ford are waking up at last. I pray they take back their Grand Old Party from the sewer into which it has walked for the last 6 years.

Thank you, Mr. Scarborough.
