CIVILITY AT LAST

Most of us political junkies have been amazed at the morphing of the once rabid talking heads of the fundamentalist right. Watching Ken Melman I could scarely believe it was the same man I've watched for the last 6 years for instance. I sincerely hope this return to manners spreads all over the political sprectum.

Lack of civility has been so destructive. So personally destructive. It has infected all areas of our society where groups of people refused to listen to alternative ideas and rigidly imposed censorship on any idea which differed from their own.
I experienced this in a very personal sense in the Old Time Music Community (a minor offshoot of it) where there was just a stone wall of political correctness against anything that went against the party line or the business interests of that tiny community.

Maybe now that our country has reestablished the wonderful system of checks and balances in our political system this genuine American Culture of Civility that has been lost for so long will have a rebirth.

We will all be better off for it.
