Who Speaks

Who speaks for the Palestinian mother
Whose hungry child is learning hate
Their land stolen by another
Claiming it's theirs two thousand years late

Who speaks for the richest land
Sickeningly absorbed with overweight
Heads planted deepest in the sand
Of fairy tales of heaven's gate.

Who speaks for earth, each one of us?
Who overcome our reptile brain
From Mohammed, Buddha and Jesus
Seeking to abolish all human pain.

Who speaks for survival to be
The constant goal of everyone
The earth our home in the spatial sea
Remains a gem lit by God's sun.

Who speaks for peace instead of war
Majorities of every nation
Deceived by leaders on every shore
Controlled by heartless corporations.

Who speaks for me, who speaks for you?
We all must speak in greater numbers
The spirit of life to renew
Before our earth in silence slumbers.

We speak for earth, We who Care!
That evil hate die and cease
That our children and theirs are heir
To a planet home of life and peace.
