MY AMERICA

My America revolves around one precious and central idea. Thomas Jefferson inthat one phrase "The Pursuit Of Happiness" defined that idea. The final and mostimportant of those truths listed in the beginning of the American Declaration ofIndependence, the most stirring, unique and revolutionary document ever pennedby the hand of man. None of the other inalienable rights such as life and libertywould be possible without the right to "the pursuit of happiness."How the controllers, kings, nobles, and especially the priests in their royal scarletrobes must have quaked with horror when first these immortal words burst uponthe conscious of mankind. They still do.

Today, in America the battle to preserve the individual's freedom to pursue his orher own happiness is under assault as never before. Today, in a perverse andRepulsive hypocrisy the current leaders of the American state and their minions theestablished religions intoxicated with power work hand in hand to deny the freepursuit of happiness to their fellow Americans.My Baptist ancestors abhorred any connection with government desiring simply tobe left alone to freely worship as their conscience dictated. As a minority at the timethe Baptists stood firmly for the rights of minorities being protected from therepressive abuse of a government majority religious or not. Today, they and othersare in bed with and actively demand a church and state in partnership and collusionto dictate what they define as morality and the people's happiness. Blind to therights of any minority they seek to legislate in law and by activist conservative courtorder an oppressive and dictatorial majority rule detrimental to the pursuit ofhappiness of multiple millions of the American family, their own families, mothers,fathers, sons, daughters, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

This decidedly un-American version of "My America" must never be allowed tobecome reality. Church with State must never be allowed to deny and take away awoman's right to control her reproduction and her own body. Church with Statemust never be allowed to deny gay people their own pursuit of happiness in a legal,loving and committed marriage relationship. Church with State must never beallowed to control a citizen's vote by religious sanction or criminally programmedcomputers. Church with State must never be allowed to interfere with or participatein any individual or family decision on the "right to die."No society in human history had been free when dominated and controlled byReligion enmeshed with the secular state. Church and State in America mustremain separate and free as in the America I grew up in before the age of theDynastic Bushes smirking in religiosity and pretense.

My America is a land where every single man, woman and child are free to pursuetheir own happiness fulfilling the promise of Jefferson's immortal words. ThatAmerica is "My America" and the only one worth fighting for and living in.I pray God it is an America our descendents will inherit.
