As a Southern Baptist I'll accept the church barring gay people if they also adopt these literal Bible Scriptures found in the New Testament.

Slaves, OBEY YOUR EARTHLY MASTERS in everything. Colossians 3:22

and

Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission , as the law says. If they want to inquire about anything, they should ask their husbands AT HOME." 1 Corinthians 13:34-35.

That should go over well with the female evangelists such as Ann Graham daughter of Billy Graham and a Southern Baptist.

And of course the Southern Baptists having apologized for their support based on the verse above and others in 1996 (takes bigots a long time to admit they are wrong) and rescind their apology.

You're right it is just plain dumb.
