Why Is The South Solidly Republican since 1968? The Unspoken Truth

The standard political spin is that the south turned from Solidly Democrat to Solidly Republican due to the Republican Strategy formulated by Richard Nixon and friends taking advantage of the Dixiecrat/Democrats dislike of the Civil Rights laws enacted under Democratic Administration. This has much truth to it. However there was a splendid chance that this Republican strategy would have failed and the South would have stayed true to its Democratic Heritage except for one unspoken truth of the history of the 1960's/early 1970's the Vietnam fiasco aside.

Many good people accepted with open arms the demise of Jim Crow in the South and made every good will effort in school intergration and the many other rights of first class citizenship all of which were stopped dead in their tracks by the repulsive emergence of Black Rascism. The formation of the Black Panther Party, the Black Muslim Party and other assorted movements of unbelieveable and unacceptable Black Rascism was looked upon with horror and disbelief by those who had just recently made such a concerted effort to end the inequities of Jim Crow. The Reaction and Revulsion to this Rascism was swift and fast leading to the dominance of the Republican Party in the South Today. Even today it is reinforced by the dominance of criminality in the African American community, the dominace of drugs in that culture, the abuse of the English Language and the purposeful Segregation and Separation by choice of many in the Black Community.

What will change it? The same thing that changed White Rascism, a change of heart and a Color Blindness that accepts other human beings as Dr. King said, not by anything but the CONTENT OF THEIR CHARACTER.
