MILKING COWS

He squeezed each teat with steady pace
On a dairy farm down south
Observing old Nellie’s happy face
A smile grew on his mouth.

He preached the Word throughout the land
To millions just like Nellie
Thundering the mortal sins of man
Milking vast herds like jelly.

Beloved by all the whole worldwide
By presidents and kings
Asserting God was on his side
Collecting huge earnings.

Passing the crown to daughter and son
The golden coffers grew
Wearing the robes of priest Aaron
For tithes and offerings due.

Another generation takes
The religion business to heart
It’s not hereditary he fakes
My turn to practice the art.

On a dairy farm way down south
Sweet William takes his place
Observing old Nellie’s happy face
A smile grew on his face.
